Itinerary

Day 1: Auckland - Raglan

The first stop on your Northern Voyager is Raglan. The stunning rugged landscape and black sand beach of Raglan is home to one of the world’s longest left-hand break with its laid-back, hippie attitude – there’s nothing like it. What better place to try your hand at surfing or if surfing isn’t your thing why not spend your time exploring the little bohemian town’s boutique shops and cafes?

Meal(s) included: Dinner

Day 2: Raglan - Taupō (Via Waitomo)

After all that beach action it’s time for more water. Waitomo – a town better known for what’s beneath it….Crawl, abseil, raft and squeeze your way through the dark abyss, lit only by the twinkling light of the glow worms above – there are tons of ways to explore this incredible natural labyrinth. After all that adventure it’s time for a beer by the wonderful Lake Taupō.

Meal(s) included: Breakfast

Day 3: Taupō - Napier

After a breakfast with a view, we give you time to explore the lake from the water’s edge or 15,000ft above it!! Up to you. We then head East to the Art Deco city of Napier and New Zealand’s most famous wine region – Hawkes Bay. We will have plenty of time to explore the Art Deco streets and buildings and a visit to Hawkes Bay wouldn’t be complete without a few wine tastings.

Meal(s) included: Breakfast

Day 4: Napier - Rotorua

Today we switch the ocean air for something a little stronger; welcome to the geothermal centre of NZ – Rotorua. There’s heaps to do here – check out the bubbling mud pools at one of the geothermal parks, walk around the lake or even hike or bike the stunning Redwood Forest just on the edge of town. Looking for adventure? Check out luging, zorbing or give white water rafting the mighty Kaituna River a go.

Meal(s) included: Breakfast

Day 5: Rotorua

Today is your day to explore all those activities you haven’t had time to do in just one afternoon. Let your guide plan an awesome day for you and give his personal recommendations on what you can do. For those Lord of the Rings fans, this is your chance to try your luck at spotting a hairy-footed miniature man at Hobbiton, with a trip to the world-famous movie set.

Meal(s) included: Breakfast

Day 6: Rotorua - Coromandel

After breakfast, we prepare for a beautiful drive to the stunning Coromandel Peninsula. We have a few scenic stops and short walks before we arrive at the coastal town of Hahei. Explore the astounding Cathedral Cove, made famous in the Chronicles of Narnia as the Gateway to Narnia. You can spend the afternoon kayaking, snorkelling or swimming in its crystal clear waters. After you’re done searching for the Land of Narnia, we’ll watch the sunset from our natural hot pools on Hot Water Beach.

Meal(s) included: Breakfast

Day 7: Coromandel - Auckland

Don’t feel sad about heading back to Auckland today, we will delay it as long as possible with some amazing scenery and some ‘off the beaten track’ places to visit. Look around and soak in all those memories you have made this week and those awesome people you have experienced this with. Exchange Facebook details and follow each other’s Instagram pages to keep in touch with your new Wild Kiwi family.
