This one day guided tour of Fraser Island aims to show you the very best of the largest sand island in the world, including the top sights and spots! Pick-up locations and times vary, but generally, guests are collected from their Hervey Bay accommodation between 6:45 and 7:45 am. Departing River Heads at 8:30 am by ferry, you will soon be arriving on Fraser Island! The itinerary for the day includes a stop at Central Station, the former logging station, followed by a stroll along the Wanggoolba Creek boardwalk to discover ancient King Ferns and the towering Gum and Pine trees. It's then on to Lake McKenzie for a swim in the crystal blue waters, a visit to Eli Creek to float down the fast-flowing water and a drive down Seventy-Five Mile Beach. As you drive down Fraser's sand highway, try to spot the birds of prey above and humpback whales out to sea! There is also a stop planned for Maheno Shipwreck, the rusting wreck of Maheno washed ashore during a cyclone in 1935, and the Pinnacles Coloured Sands to view the amazing technicolour sand formations on the island! Lunch is included on the tour and guests can expect to return to Hervey Bay around 5:30 pm.
