Reef Experience is Cairns only FULLY INCLUSIVE day tour to the Outer Great Barrier Reef.

Your fabulous day will begin when you board "Reef Experience" at 7:30am, at the Marlin Jetty "A" Finger in Cairns for a BBQ breakfast of Bacon & Egg BBQ rolls, coffee, tea and fruits.

We then depart Cairns Marina for the 90 minute journey on our fast Catamaran to the Outer Great Barrier Reef, where we spend up to 5 hours snorkeling,scuba diving, swimming, visiting 2 spectacular reef locations. 

We come face to face with schools of tropical reef fish & amazing spectacular coral formations

  • 2 Outer Great Barrier Reef Locations
  • Guided Snorkel Tours - Non-swimmer snorkel tours for those who require assistance in the water
  • Buoyancy vests, noodles and wetsuits for easy flotation for all passengers
  • Stinger Suits during Stinger Season (Nov to May)
  • Snorkelling equipment and tuition
  • 1 x FREE Certified Scuba Dive (licenced) or Resort Scuba Dive (no-experience necessary)  for everyone who is over the age of 12 and medically fit to scuba (See Medical Conditions below in  "About Scuba Diving")
  • Marine Biology Presentation
  • Breakfast, bacon and egg BBQ roll, Coffee, Tea and fruit platter
  • BBQ Lunch with an assortment of fresh salads
  • Cheese, crackers and glass of wine are served on the return trip to Cairns.

  • Hastings Reef:            Spectacular coral gardens and exotic marine life
  • Norman Reef:             On the pristine and dramatic Outer Edge
  • Saxon Reef:                An Underwater paradise brimming with life         
  • Breaking Patches:      Located off Michaelmas cay this great location is renowned as being a paradise of shall lagoons and is frequented by turtles

Itinerary

Day 1 : Reef Experience
Your Itinerary: 07:30 – Board Reef Experience vessel at the Marlin Jetty, Cairns 08:00 – Departure Marlin Jetty for the trip to the Outer Great Barrier Reef 08:30 – BBQ Bacon & Egg Rolls served on the way out to the Outer Reef a detailed dive & snorkelling briefing will be given 09:30 – Arrive at our first spectacular reef site, snorkel & dive with thousands of vivid tropical fish, giant clams plus more 12:30 – Lunch 13:00 – Cruise to our second location to explore forests of coral, large sea fans & black coral trees in it’s shallow lagoons 15:00 – Depart the Great Barrier Reef 15:30 – Glass of wine, tropical fruits & individually packed snack 16:30 – Arrive back in Cairns *All times are approximate and the itinerary is subject to change.

Pickups / Departures

Check-in starts at 7.30 am, please go directly to Reef Experience located at Marlin Jetty "A" Finger.

➢ A Surcharge of $100 per person applies to 25 December 2025 & 2026 – Christmas Day
➢ A Surcharge of $50 per person applies to the following days:
