Experience the famous Falls River Swing Bridge by foot and an afternoon paddling in the Astrolabe.

Your journey begins with a scenic water taxi ride to Torrent Bay. From here, enjoy an unguided walk along one of the park’s iconic sections of track. The track gradually climbs through lush native forest, winds around valleys and above sheltered inlets, and leads you to the impressive 47-metre Falls River Swing Bridge—an unforgettable highlight. Continue through coastal bush alive with birdsong and dappled sunlight before winding back down to the golden sands of Bark Bay, where you’ll stop and relax to enjoy your picnic lunch.

After lunch, jump back on the water taxi and relax as you cruise the coastline you just walked. At Observation Beach, meet your kayak guide for the second half of your adventure. Paddle through the beautiful Astrolabe region, home to 12 pristine beaches, dramatic granite formations, and, playful fur seals. If conditions allow,  you might even kayak-sail your way back to Mārahau, harnessing the afternoon sea breeze for an exhilarating finale to your earth, sea, and sky adventure.
