Not only is goon the backpacker's traditional beverage of choice, it's cheap and versatile as hell. These are the best, and cheapest ways to classy up your drinking habits and take the king of all beverages to a whole new level. But be warned, although these drinks are cheap, they may come at the expense of your dignity.
Not only is this crazy cheap to make, it's also super refreshing. Perfect for those Summer days.

Okay now listen carefully, this is what you're doing to do. Mix the strawberries and sugar together and spread evenly onto a baking dish. Shotgun the hostel oven before the boys come back for dinner and bake for 25 minutes until the juices thicken and you set the fire alarm off. Wait until the mixture cools and then blend until smooth. Slowly stir in the good stuff (aka the goon of course). Pour the mixture into popsicle moulds (any self-respecting $2 store will stock these). Freeze popsicles for at least an hour before inserting sticks and then freeze for 4-6 hours. On a hot afternoon these = boozy bliss and you'll be the most popular person in the hostel.
Now this is some seriously fancy goon. All you have to do is grab your hostel blender to combine the goon, lemonade concentrate, ice and OJ into a slushy-like consistency and then presto, garnish with a fancy little lemon wedge and you're everybody's best friend.

Okay so that may look like a lot of ingredients but we promise this is real easy to make and totally worth it. Start off by crushing the mint leaves, lime slices, pineapple chunks and sugar together. Then cover with white rum, white goon and pineapple juice. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours and serve with chunk of pineapple to ensure you're the hostel's bar hostess with the mostess.
Welcome to Summer. Not only is this an alcoholic fruit juice (um, yes), it's also ever so slightly healthy (if you squint your eyes). Watermelon is 98% water after all.

You and the hostel blender are going out on a second date. Blitz the watermelon cubes and agave nectar until smooth. Pour evenly amongst glasses until 1/2 full. Top glasses with even amounts of goon and soda water. It's really that easy.
