My East Coast Trip: Defined In Travel Quotes
I travelled up the East Coast of Australia and had the time of my life. I've described my amazing trip using 15 travel quotes.
"There is no moment of delight in any pilgramage like the beginning of it."
I remember when I first arrived in Brisbane, I was beyond happy, and overwhelmed. It took me two weeks to realize that I was REALLY in Australia.
"It doesn’t matter where you’re going, it’s who you have beside you."
More often than the destination itself, its the people you meet during your trip make it a great experience. I met so many people from different countries, with different views and opinions; it was so enlightening. And the fastest way to meet new people in Australia?
Play beer pong.
"Advice from a palm tree: soak up the sun, stand tall and proud, remember your roots, be content with your natural beauty, and enjoy the view."
I’ve seen some pretty palm trees during my trip and something about them make me feel joyous. May you never be too busy to stop and breathe under a palm tree! Well, after hiking in the sun at Magnetic Island, I really needed some breathing.
"Not all classrooms have four walls."
You learn a lot when you’re travelling. Not only about places, but also about the people and about yourself. I also learned what ‘goon’ is and what it does to people. (goon = devil in the box!)
"Don’t let the seeds stop you from enjoying the watermelon."
There may be some less happy moments while you’re travelling, but they always pass. I’ve been bitten by 77 mosquitos, been sunburnt to the third degree, and I have lost my favourite shoes. But hey, I’m still alive! And also, I love watermelons!
"I love places that make you realize how tiny you and your problems are."
Last week I went to Wategos Beach in Byron Bay. I’ve been sitting on the rocks for an hour, watching the waves and thinking about how beautiful life is.
"I have left my heart in so many places."
I’ve been to Brisbane, Noosa, Airlie Beach, Whitsundays, Fraser Island, Rainbow Beach, Magnetic Island, Uluru-Red Centre, Cairns, Byron Bay and fell in love with every single place. I can’t wait to discover all the other beautiful destinations Australia has to offer.
"I followed my heart and it led me to the beach."
The beach is my happy place. I guess there’s saltwater running through my veins.
"A ship in harbor is safe, but that’s not why ships were built."
Comfort zone, what? I dived for the first time in my life in the Great Barrier Reef, walked on the Story Bridge in Brisbane and slept in a rainforest. And it was pretty awesome! Life lesson: if it scares you, it might be a good thing to try.
"The best views always come after the hardest climb."
This picture was taken after a two and a half hour hike at Magnetic Island. It was 30 degrees and I almost fainted, but the amazing view made it all worth it.
"Life is better in flip flops."
Seriously. I’ve been living in slippers for the last five weeks. I’m wearing slippers when I’m going to the beach, when I’m eating, when I’m sleeping, when I’m snorkelling, even when I’m at work doing my internship.
"Let’s wander where the wifi is weak."
Let’s be honest, the wifi in some hostels is really awful and it frustrated me sometimes. But it did give me the opportunity to lay my phone down, and talk to people in real life. Can you imagine?
"Life is like a sandwich; you have to fill it with the best ingredients."
I totally love the food in Aussie. Pizzas, tacos, açai bowls, burgers, ... I ate it all. And gained 5 kilos. #WorthIt
"May every sunrise hold more promise, and every sunset hold more peace."
If you want to see the most beautiful sunrise/sunset ever, go to the lighthouse in Byron Bay. It will leave you speechless.
"Let the sea set you free."
Whitsundays: paddling in the middle of the ocean, snorkelling, watching the sunset, drinking goon, spotting dolphins, ... Oh, what a life I’m living!
