Day 1: Check in + Overnight Cairns
Welcome to Cairns! Arrive anytime and check into your centrally located hostel accomodation - if you're coming straight from the airport let us know and we'll organise you a free shuttle that drops you off night in front of your hostel. Drop your bags - it's time to explore the city! Tonight, why not hit the town and make some new friends. Don't be out too late though - you're off to the Great Barrier Reef tomorrow!
Day 2: Great Barrier Reef snorkel tour + Overnight Cairns
Get up bright and early and don't forget your camera! You can catch the free hostel shuttle to the marina where you will be boarding at 7:30am from A Finger no 5. Enjoy a morning tea or coffee and Danish pastries in the comfortable lounge. Following an initial safety brief, kick back, relax and enjoy the one hour cruise to Upolu Cay on the Great Barrier Reef. This is the first boat to arrive at the beautiful Upolu Cay so you can enjoy it uninterrupted! Surrounded by stunning turquoise water and many types of corals, reef fishes, stingrays, sea cucumbers, sea stars - this makes for a great introduction to the reef. Snorkel and dive here under the watchful eye of the safety conscious staff. All necessary assistance is provided to ensure all guests get to enjoy the reef, regardless of experience levels. Lunch is at approximately 12:30am and is a self-serve buffet. The large smorgasbord lunch consists of 3 meats and chicken platters, prawns, smoked salmon and 3 salads, with a selection of breads. While lunch is being enjoyed you cruise to your second sit, whilst you sunbathe on the spacious comfortable deck areas or relax in the air conditioned comfort of the saloon
The amazing "Wonder Wall" on the Outer Edge of Upolu Reef. View many different types of hard and soft coral in addition to fans, giant clams, turtles, a huge diversity and abundance of reef fish of all sizes, including nemos everywhere! You have time to snorkel and dive here, and enjoy an informative adventure drift snorkel tour with the Marine Naturalist and even complimentary Glass Bottomed Boat tours. Arrive in Cairns from 4.15pm, where you'll head back to your hostel for another included night's accomodation.
Day 3: Daintree Rainforest Tour + Overnight Cairns
Depart from Cairns approx 7:30-8am and travel south and discover the majesty and beauty of north Queensland’s most iconic waterfalls, a MUST see for anyone wanting to experience pristine rainforest, cascading waterfalls, stunning panoramas of Queensland’s highest peaks and maybe a glimpse of rare and unique native wildlife. You will visit and be amazed by the legend of Babinda Boulders steeped in aboriginal history of trapped spirits and a tragic love story that will chill you to the bone. Next …your morning swim beckons amidst the lush rainforest and cascading crystal clear water of Josephine falls. A natural waterslide awaits the young at heart, while the spectacular backdrop provides photo opportunities and wildlife spotting . Josaphine falls is a unique opportunity to slide down a waterfall on a natural rockslide sure to make even the crankiest traveller crack a smile. Journey on to Australia’s most iconic waterfall Millaa Millaa Falls made famous by Qantas and herbal essences commercials. This 18 m single drop waterfall lies in the heart of the Wet Tropics World Heritage listed rainforest. For lunch we will take you to Australia’s largest timer pub and fill you belly with some good old fashioned country cooking then back into the waterfalls. Mount Hypipamee, the Crater and Dinner falls WOW 3 great things in one location here you will have the opportunity to take a bush walk swim behind a waterfall and gaze into a 85 meter deep volcanic crater and if that’s not enough we quite often see the local Cassowary here too. As the afternoon starts to roll on we head to the Curtain Fig Tree 15meter high roots towering above like 3 story building here you need to keep your eyes peeled for the elusive Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo. Just before our last swim spot we will take you down to a quiet little creek to search for Platypus and then off to our last stop of the day Lake Eacham. A dormant Volcanic Crater lake filled with turtles and surrounded by wildlife we will watch the sunset over a truly spectacular day at our last swim don’t worry about getting cold the water in here never changes temperature 23 degrees all day all night. Waterfall Wanderers will provide morning and afternoon tea, lunch, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuit’s and fruit throughout the day as well as heaps of games and puzzles to keep you entertained on the bus.
This afternoon you'll head back to your hostel for your last night's accomodation.
