Day 1- Overnight bus from Sydney to Spot X
Welcome to Sydney! If you're after some adventure, why not opt for sightseeing with a twist as you skydive over 14,000 complete with stunning views? For a tamer morning, why not kick back with a coffee in one of the city's many leafy parks and soak in some sunshine. Later tonight, hop on your overnight bus to Spot X where you'll spend the next two days learning to surf like the pros.
Day 2 - 2 day/2 night Surf Camp - Overnight Spot X
Get off the beaten track and head to the secret surf location of 'Spot X' where you can experience stunning coastline, good times and discover what the Aussie way of life is all about. Today is an early start as you head out for your first surf lesson! With spectacular views, epic waves and good mates, what's not to love.
Day 3 - 2 day/2 night Surf Camp - Overnight Spot X
Welcome to your second day at laid-back Spot X. Head out for another surf lesson and spend the rest of the day shredding waves or working on your tan. Tonight you'll spend another night around the campfire with some pretty awesome coastal views.
Day 4 - Bus from Spot X to Byron Bay / Overnight in Byron Bay
Today you're leaving Spot X! But don't cry just yet, you're off to even more stunning coastal scenery at the iconic seaside hub of Byron Bay. Check into your hostel for 2 nights before heading out to explore.
Day 5 - Dolphin Kayak / Overnight in Byron Bay
This 3 hour guided tour is the perfect Byron Bay experience. Our marine park is home to dolphins, turtles and whales so keep your eyes peeled as you join our team of surf lifesavers for an unforgettable paddle to Australia's most easterly point.
Day 6 - Nimbin / Overnight in Byron Bay
Today you're off for a real local experience - hippy central Nimbin. This tour is all about venturing into village vibes so bring out the hippie colours to explore Nimbin and the incredible surrounding Byron Bay hinterland. Spend the morning meeting dreadlocked locals and exploring the colourful street before a fun-filled afternoon of waterfall hopping. This afternoon, head back to Byron Bay for a well-deserved beer on the beach.
Day 7 - Bus to Surfers Paradise/Overnight Surfers Paradise
Wave goodbye to Byron as today you make your way to Surfers Paradise on the stunning Gold Coast. Check into your central hostel for 2 nights before heading out to explore the town. We're talking stunning beaches, towering skyscrapers and some of the country's best nightlife.
Day 8 - Currumbin / Overnight in Surfers Paradise
Voted one of the Gold Coast's most popular tourist activities, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary allows you to get up close to many of Australia’s iconic wildlife. Filled with interactive exhibits, wildlife shows and activities for young and old, this is a great value day out.
Day 9 - Bus from Surfers Paradise to Brisbane
Pack your stuff, you're off to Brisbane today. Check into your lively hostel where you'll be staying for 2 nights then head out to explore. Brisbane is affectionately called BrisVegas by the locals and you'll soon find out why. It's the perfect mix of relaxed summer vibes meet bit city chic. Head out to Queen Street Wall, explore South Bank or cycle through Newfarm Park. Tonight, what better way to get acquainted with the city then heading out for a big night in Fortitude Valley.
Day 10 - Free Day Brisbane /Overnight Brisbane
Today is yours free to explore sunny Brisbane. Head to Southbank and check out the waterfront galleries or ask our travel gurus how to upgrade to a tour of the stunning Moreton Island! tonight, why not hit the town?
Day 11 - Bus to Noosa/Overnight Noosa
Wave goodbye to Brissy and hello to the darling of the Sunshine Coast, Noosa! Check into your hostel for 2 nights then treat yourself to a drink at one of the many cafes that boast stunning coastal views. The best way to experience Noosa is to kick back and go with the flow. We're talking lazy afternoon drinks, sunset beach walking and all the other good stuff.
Day 12 - Everglades / Overnight in Noosa
Enjoy a magnificent afternoon Everglades tour. Cruise departs at approximately 2:15pm from Habitat Noosa. Advanced Eco, Certified Cruise and spacious, purpose-built vessel with large opening viewing windows. Dedicated and informative skipper with over 20 years experience on the Noosa River. Includes afternoon tea and a complimentary glass of bubbly with nibbles. Returns to Habitat Noosa at approximately 4:45pm.
Day 13 - Bus to Rainbow Beach/Overnight Rainbow Beach
Check out of your hostel and make your way to Rainbow Beach. Check into your hostel and get yourself comfortable with the relaxed pace of life here.
Day 14 - Safety Briefing / Overnight in Rainbow Beach
This afternoon, you will attend your compulsory safety briefing to prepare you for your next couple of days driving 4x4s across stunning Fraser Island!
Day 15 - Dingos Fraser Island Tag Along Safari
Rise and shine, at 9.30am you depart for Fraser Island! Drive approx 10 minutes to the barge (ferry) and board for your 10-minute barge crossing. Once you have arrived on the world's biggest sand island, you then drive for 1 hour to the Eurong resort along 75 Mile beach - Fraser Island's own highway with speed limits! From here is when the big adventure begins as you drive to the famous Lake McKenzie - arguably the most popular and picturesque highlight of Fraser! Here, stop for some lunch, and for some quality time to have a play in the amazingly clear waters with your new found friends! Around 3 pm you drive up the beach to your campsite, for an early dinner and some well-deserved drinks and fun!
Day 16 - Dingos Fraser Island Tag Along Safari
Get up in the morning for a quick breakfast before you begin your busiest day on Fraser Island. First, head off to see Eli Creek, a beautifully clear creek perfect for a relaxing swim. Travelling north you then stop at Maheno shipwreck for some photos and short history lesson about this famous Fraser Island icon. Shortly after, travel up to Indian Head, Fraser Island's highest point. From here you may be lucky enough to see whales and sharks in the ocean, before you travel to Champagne pools for a dip! In the afternoon, travel back to camp for dinner and drinks.
Day 17 - Dingos Fraser Island Tag Along Safari / Overnight in Rainbow Beach
Start with breakfast, then drive to the beginning of the Lake Wabby walk, where you walk through the sand dunes to this tropical paradise! Lunch follows your trip to Lake Wabby, before you begin your drive down the beach heading back to the barge. Once back on the mainland, head back to the 4WD shed where you unpack and quickly clean the cars. Tonight, enjoy a well-deserved rest in Rainbow Beach before checking out in the morning.
Day 18 - Bus to 1770/Overnight 1770
Rise and shine, it's an early start for your hostel checkout. Next, grab some snacks and prepare yourself for another travel day. Today you're heading up to the tropical paradise of 1770. Once you arrive, check into your hostel for 2 nights.
Day 19 - Free Day / Overnight in 1770
Today you have the whole day to explore 1770. This place is a real beach haven so you guessed it, we’re suggesting you hit the waves!
Day 20 - Free Day / Overnight Bus from 1770 to Airlie Beach
Today is you have even more time to explore 1770. Hit the spots you missed or give your favourites another go! Tonight, pack your bags as you board your overnight bus to iconic Airlie Beach.
Day 21 - Free Day / Overnight in Airlie Beach
Arrive bright and early in Airlie and check into your hostel for 2 nights. Today is yours free to Airlie this tropical paradise. Tonight, you can find out for yourself by Airlie nightlife is just so famous...
Day 22 - Whitsundays Sailing
Don't forget your camera because today you're leaving on your Whitsundays adventure! This afternoon you will depart from Abell Point Marina where you'll hop on board your boat and be taken to your exclusive Whitsundays Resort. Settle down for a delicious dinner overlooking the iconic landscape of the Whitsundays and get some rest because tomorrow is a big one!
Day 23 - Whitsundays Sailing
Wake up and head down to the main house for a continental breakfast and fruit salad before packing your dry bag and heading off on a Whitsunday Adventure! First stop is Whitehaven Beach and the amazing Hill Inlet Lookout. Once you’ve taken those lifetime pictures at the Hill Inlets you can stroll down to the silica sand and do some exploring. You'll then be taken to Mantaray Bay for an exciting snorkel amongst 100s of fish! Head back to the resort for a well-deserved spa and relax as your crew cook you another delicious dinner.
Day 24 - Whitsundays Sailing
The boat will pick you up at the beach again before a refreshing morning race with the wind in your hair across the Whitsunday passage to Langford Sandbar. Here the boat will deposit you on the beach so you can enjoy a few hours of snorkelling with the resident turtles, or chillaxing on the beach. Soaking up your last bit of sun and enjoying morning tea. The ride home takes about 45 minutes, allowing you time to stare out across the islands and reflect on the last couple of day’s amazing adventures.
Day 25 - Bus to Townsville, Ferry to Magnetic Island / Overnight in Magnetic Island
You may be leaving Airlie Beach, but the tropical paradise doesn't stop there! Make your way to Townsville where you will catch a ferry over to the magical Magnetic Island. Settle into your beachside hostel where you will stay for 2 nights and then why not hit the beach
Day 26 - Free day/Overnight in Magnetic Island
Today is yours free to explore. There's plenty to do on the island, but our personal favourite is to do nothing...kick back and relax. Once you soak in the views of the aqua water and swaying palm trees, you'll know exactly what we're talking about.
Day 27 - Ferry to Townsville, Ferry to Cairns / Overnight in Cairns
Check out of your hostel and board your ferry back to Townsville where you will continue onto the adventure capital of Australia - Cairns. Check into your hostel where you'll be staying for the next week and then head out to explore. As well as stunning views and being stuffed full of adventure activities, Cairns is also a huge party town so get ready for tonight. The best way to say hello to Cairns is to hit the town.
Day 28 - Great Barrier Reef Cruise / Overnight in Cairns
It's here. The day you've been waiting for. Today, you're heading out onto the big blue to explore the Great Barrier Reef. Today you get to explore 2 stunning reef sites; Upolu Cay and the 'Wonder Wall' on the Outer Edge of Upolu Reef. You're treated to 6 full hours exploring the reef with plenty of snorkelling and diving opportunities, awesome lunch and knowledgeable eco-guides.
Day 29 - Cape Tribulation Tour / Overnight in Cairns
Your action packed Cape Tribulation full day tour with Active Tropics Explorer begins with the beautiful scenic drive along the coastline north of Cairns, Port Douglas and through the small township of Mossman heading towards the Daintree National Park. Our experienced guides will inform you of the amazing diversity you will see when entering this 130 million-year-old rainforest.
Day 30 - Waterfalls Tour / Overnight in Cairns
Today you'll be treated to a waterfall tour - a MUST do for anyone wanting to experience the pristine rainforest, cascading waterfalls, stunning panoramas of Queensland’s highest peaks and maybe a glimpse of rare and unique native wildlife. You will explore countless waterfalls and rivers where you'll have the chance to spot incredible wildlife and more deep within these ancient forests. This afternoon you'll be transferred back to Cairns where you'll head back to your hostel.
Day 31 - 15,000ft Skydive with Beach Landing!/Overnight Cairns
Today you're in for a treat! This skydive is adrenaline packed with the views of the Great Barrier Reef, tropical Islands and Rainforest and is an unforgettable experience of your lifetime.
Day 32 - Check out/Trip Ends
This morning you will check out of your hostel where your trip will officially end. Don't cry! There's plenty more of Australia to explore.
